Constitutional saga over MPs' dual citizenship will not be heard until mid-October

The saga over the dual citizenship of a string of federal politicians will not be resolved until later this year with the High Court knocking back requests from the Attorney-General for the case to be heard in early September.

In a directions hearing in the High Court - sitting as the Court of Disputed Returns - in Brisbane, Chief Justice Susan Kiefel ruled the matter would be heard in Canberra on October 10, 11 and 12.
