The education broker advised by former AFL chief Andrew Demetriou has been ordered to pay a $4.5 million fine after being found to have taken advantage of vulnerable students.

The Australian Consumer and Competition Commission won its case against Acquire Learning on Tuesday with the Federal Court finding that Acquire had "rorted the [government's] VET FEE-HELP scheme" by using telemarketers who were paid cash and prizes based on how many students they could enrol.
