Climate wars now hinge on the battle of the baseline

When political bickering over climate change and energy policy began in earnest last decade, it was largely an academic argument. Gas was still cheap and coal-fired power plentiful.
Today, that is no longer the case. Businesses face ruin and householders face price hikes that are causing stress, not only to those on low incomes.
