Hedge funds are ratcheting up their presence in domestic takeovers, albeit cautiously, with larger stocks such as Intoll Group, Centennial Coal and Healthscope dominating activity.
While a string of local deals have presented opportunities for merger arbitrage and multi-strategy funds, many are still reeling from a spate of failed transactions earlier in the year.
