Investors blast Labor over restrictive uranium policy

A number of uranium stocks jumped on Friday in response to comments by Prime Minister John Howard that he was not against the idea of nuclear energy being used to generate power.
Paladin Resources, which has uranium mines in Namibia and Western Australia, closed up 7¢ to $3.25, while Energy Resources of Australia, which mines uranium in the Northern Territory, rose 24¢ to $12.15.
