The reigning rugby league premiers may be without their captain but shares of Brisbane Broncos Ltd held firm yesterday even after the Queensland team's chances of a successful title defence took a tumble.

The club will struggle to retain its form with captain Darren Lockyer ruled out for the rest of the competition season with a knee injury.
