One of Qantas’ largest institutional investors is backing the carrier despite a season of controversies surrounding chronic flight delays, cancellations and staffing issues, arguing the company can restore its share price to where it was pre-pandemic.
Pendal’s Crispin Murray acknowledged the irony in naming Qantas a "winner" from the August reporting season given the brand and chief executive Alan Joyce's “level of unpopularity” with the travelling public.
