Sharemarket addict Kerr Neilson farewells Platinum

Kerr Neilson called time on 28 years at Platinum Asset Management on Wednesday after he formally resigned from the board of the asset manager he co-founded with chief executive Andrew Clifford in 1994.

At Platinum’s annual general meeting in Sydney, the 72-year-old investor said he planned to actively manage his own portfolio in retirement as an “addicted stockpicker” who had the sharemarket “hard-wired into his whole approach to living”.
