Australian shares broke a seven-week winning streak amid worries over global issues such as "Brexit", coupled with the release of strong domestic growth data that could spell the end to Reserve Bank rate cuts.

Shares rose on Friday, however, despite investor caution ahead of Friday night US jobs data that could determine the case for a Federal Reserve interest rate hike later this month or in July.
