Powershop wins customers on price, keeps them with 'feel-good' green factor
A consumer-savvy blend of low prices, digital tools and "feel-good" tactics for environmentally conscious customers is helping New Zealand-owned Powershop fend off hefty discounting from incumbent electricity retailers to build up its business in the south-eastern states.
Chief executive Ben Burge said customer numbers have grown to about 60,000 since the online electricity retailer branched out from its home market in Victoria to NSW earlier this year.
