Mud flies as judge sets date for Kumova v Stock Swami trial
An increasingly bitter legal dispute has a trial date after Alan Davison sought to expand his defence by making new allegations against the applicant.
Federal court Justice Michael Lee has set June 22 as the date for a defamation trial brought by stockmarket entrepreneur Tolga Kumova against self-appointed penny stock cop Alan Davison, better known by his Twitter alias Stock Swami.
The case is set to elevate a series of social media barneys to the federal court and will see Mr Davison claim a number of defences, including qualified privilege, on the basis he was entitled to respond to attacks made by Mr Kumova on Twitter.
