Investors across the globe fled to safety after Iran fired a salvo of missiles at Israel overnight, reversing the bullish sentiment that swept across financial markets over the past week on the back of China’s stimulus blitz.

The barrage of around 200 ballistic missiles, which were mostly intercepted, was in response to Israel’s ground advance into Lebanon. Israel vowed to retaliate, marking a sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
