Macquarie strategists have urged clients to capitalise on a “trading opportunity” over the coming weeks as ASX-listed real estate investment trusts approach their dividend season.

The broker has told investors they have a chance to capture the historical outperformance of REITs leading into their ex-dividend date, which typically occurs at the end of June and December.
