James Hardie Industries has fired chief executive Jack Truong with immediate effect after an inquiry found he had acted inappropriately, triggering a near $1 billion fall in the company’s market value.
James Hardie appointed Mr Truong in May 2017 as president of international operations before promoting him to CEO in 2019 when he was tasked with transforming the global building materials company.
