The chief executive of ASX-listed Australian Career Networks, Ivan Brown, says the rising costs of compliance across the vocational education industry are helping to drive out marginal, low-quality operators and there will be more consolidation in a sector under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Mr Brown said ACN is looking to expand its operations in Queensland from its traditional strongholds of Victoria and NSW, and is examining potential acquisitions and organic expansion in that state.
