Hills chief waits for healthcare headaches to ease

The chief executive of industrials group Hills Ltd, most famous for its Hills hoist clothes line, insists its foray into healthcare will pay dividends, but its acquisitions in the sector have taken longer than expected to integrate.

Hills made four separate acquisitions in nurse-call technology and high-tech patient infotainment in aged care homes and hospitals from late 2013 to early 2015. The Hills businesses now cover 190,000 beds in aged care homes, and 90,000 beds in hospitals in Australia and New Zealand
