Explosion rocks BlueScope's North Star plant in Ohio, suffers $US5m damage

BlueScope Steel estimates it has suffered $US5 million ($6.8 million) in damages and lost production after an explosion at its North Star plant in the United States.
The steel maker said on Monday that a refractory failure on Saturday afternoon allowed molten steel to flow from the shell in North Star's southern electric arc furnace, resulting in an explosion and fire.
