Dividends from largest companies hit record $496b
London | Dividends issued in the first quarter by the world’s largest listed companies hit a record this year, even as prominent investors and asset managers warn of a coming global economic slowdown.
The world’s 1200 biggest public companies collectively issued $US326.7 billion ($496 billion) in dividends in January-March, a 12 per cent increase on the year-earlier period, a quarterly report from fund manager Janus Henderson said.
