Philippines-focused explorer Otto Energy says it is “very close" to sealing a deal to enter an exploration venture in onshore east Africa after screening a number of potential opportunities over the last several months.

The junior has been working with local private group Swala to screen potential ventures that would give Otto an entry point into the increasingly popular east Africa rift region, with a focus on Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.
