Rising cost pressures could blemish an otherwise robust outlook for the mining industry in next week’s reporting season.

The higher than expected 0.8 per cent increase in the Producer Price Index for the June quarter is adding to worries: margin pressure in the sector is largely stemming from rising labour and power costs.
