China’s insatiable appetite for iron ore has led to billions of dollars of investment in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, leaving the manufacturing states like Victoria to eat the dust of the big dig.

Now one ambitious Victorian miner is set to become the state’s first ever iron ore producer – sharing in some of the spoils of the tapering mining boom.
