Difficult year ahead for WA wheat exporters

When strong winds and fire ripped through the Esperance region last month, Nigel Norwood was about three-quarters through harvesting his wheat crop.
A farmer in Scaddan in Western Australia's south, he lost the harvested and unharvested crop, along with several pieces of machinery. "Some of that wheat got burnt in grain bags on the ground and one silo is still on fire," Mr Norwood said.
