New Zealand’s Contact Energy , which operates hydro, gas-fired and geothermal generation and is 51.9 per cent owned by Origin Energy, said a 12 per cent lift in revenue was largely offset by increases in network and gas costs, as well as carbon costs on the back of the introduction of an emissions trading scheme.
