Wind, wave and geothermal power companies have been buoyed by the new Prime Minister’s commitment to promote renewable energy and put a price on carbon.

Julia Gillard ’s focus on climate change could re-energise investment in the sector, said Mark Elliott, executive chairman of Hot Rock , a geothermal energy company.
