London | If the average Briton remembers one thing about Australia from 2024, it will be Senator Lidia Thorpe yelling “give us our land back” at the King.
The story got the full treatment in the newspapers and on the airwaves – even if The Sun didn’t quite reach the glorious tabloid heights of its “Lizard of Oz” headline of 1992, after former prime minister Paul Keating put his arm around the then Queen.
