Republic movement seeks major reset from royal visit

The leaders of the Australian republic movement say winning over younger voters and multicultural communities will be key to cutting ties with Britain, as they use next week’s royal visit to restart the flagging campaign.
A quarter of a century after the failed referendum, Australian Republic Movement co-chair Esther Anatolitis said the first visit by a reigning monarch since 2011 would remind voters that King Charles was “a part-timer who lives overseas”.
