Royal tour revives Australian ties for King Charles

Few members of the royal family know Australia as well as King Charles. Shipped out as a schoolboy to study at Geelong Grammar’s Timbertop campus in the 1960s, the future monarch experienced what he once called “by far the best part” of his formative years here.
A long way from home, Charles built a strong circle of friendships that survives to this day. Arriving in Sydney on Friday night with Queen Camilla, the five-day tour will be the King’s first as head of state.
