Premiers warn on NDIS reforms, risking new peace agreement

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has warned federal Labor that changes to NDIS funding must not leave the states paying too much to care for children with autism, in a retort signalling the newly signed peace deal with the Albanese government could be short-lived.

As reform plans for the National Disability Insurance Scheme inch through parliament this week, a deal with state premiers announced on Wednesday means they will no longer be able to hold the federal government hostage over the scheme’s governance arrangements.
