The big story | After the glut of gold medals on Wednesday, Australians were doubtless expecting to wake up to another generous helping on Friday morning (AEST). But our men’s kayak sprint team missed out by an extraordinary 0.4 of a second, and swimmer Moe Johnson surrendered her lead in the dying moments of the women’s marathon in the Seine. Still, that pair of silvers – and a couple of boxing bronzes – will keep the medal tally ticking over.
