Paris | Australia’s athletes have turned Paris 2024 into the country’s most successful Games in 128 years of modern Olympic history after a five-hour gold rush delivered a record medal tally, days out from the end of the tournament.
Athletes competing all over France secured four gold medals in a frenzied 308 minutes in the early hours of Thursday morning (AEST) to take Australia’s gold medal tally to 18 – and there is the potential for more in the remaining four days.
