“I can be a little bit mad,” says winery owner Rod Micallef. “I tend to think big and have these crazy ideas. I just launch into things. I don’t do any market research. I can’t help myself.”

Micallef is talking to me from his Zonzo winery in the Yarra Valley, east of Melbourne. We’re not talking about the latest release of his pinot noir, chardonnay or cabernet sauvignon, though. We’re talking about Zoncello, the limoncello spritz that has sold over a million bottles since its release early last year.
