Anthony Albanese has opened the door to replacing Immigration Minister Andrew Giles in a reshuffle over winter, amid revelations New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Chris Luxon, expressed “grave concerns” Australia will restart deporting criminals across the Tasman.
Mr Albanese, who has been mulling a broader reshuffle to freshen his team ahead of the next election, made no commitment to keeping Mr Giles in his job beyond the immediate term.
