Planes are getting smaller. Will that send fares soaring?
The first A380 arrived in Sydney some 16 years ago. But the era of massive jets was short-lived. And that could crunch supply and create airport bottlenecks.
The first Airbus A380 entered service – flying from Singapore to Sydney – just over 16 years ago. Able to carry 850 passengers, the aircraft seemingly ushering in an era of bigger and bigger planes. It was not to be.
The A380 which had landed with much fanfare at Kingsford Smith Airport was scrapped in 2019.
