Anthony Albanese says every Australian will get a tax cut as Labor moves to provide additional help for cost-of-living pain. Along with possible changes to legislated stage three tax cuts in the government’s new package, another Coalition-era measure could be readopted.
The low- and middle-income tax offset ended last year, affecting about 10 million taxpayers. The offset provided lump sum payments of up to $1080 after taxpayers filed their annual tax return to the Tax Office.
