There’s no point getting frazzled up in the wild Kumaon Hills – part of the Central Himalayan range, in the eastern part of India’s Uttarakhand state, (bordered by Nepal and Tibet), where everyday life is dictated largely by nature.

So when Jamshyd Sethna, owner of the ultra-remote stone-and-glass luxury lodge Shakti Leti 360°, heard years ago that the local government intended to build a road beneath his spectacular property, he didn’t panic.
