Voice legislation clears parliament, campaigns to fire up
Supporters of the Voice to parliament will dramatically scale up campaign efforts in a bid to turn around flagging support for constitutional recognition after parliament paved the way for Australia’s first referendum in nearly 25 years.
Celebrating the passage of legislation on Monday that sets up a national vote on the Indigenous advisory body before the end of the year, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the Voice was a chance for all Australians to walk together to a better future, as he promised to campaign around the country in the weeks before polling day.
