Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this week is not just expected to be the first time in almost a decade it has introduced a major new product category, a mixed-reality headset thought to be called the Reality Pro. A raft of changes are expected across its sprawling range.
The conference, which has historically catered to software developers building apps for Apple’s iPhone, iPad, Watch, TV and Mac platforms, is expected to include announcements of big software updates, including one for the iPhone that may mean Apple reverses its long-held policy of not allowing apps to be installed from anywhere but the App Store.
