Labor has been accused of dragging its heels on plans to introduce national vehicle pollution limits that could drive up the cost of the nation’s biggest-selling utes and four-wheel-drive models.
Under a federal plan announced on Wednesday, carmakers would be penalised for importing internal combustion engines under a scheme aimed at encouraging greater supply from global carmakers of electric vehicles into the Australia market.
