Dutton’s suburban dream becomes a Liberal nightmare
Phillip CooreyPolitical editorIn his first press conference as opposition leader, Peter Dutton said big business, with its ever-growing focus on environmental, social and governance protocols, was no longer the natural ally of the Liberal Party.
After being rebuffed in its heartland inner-city seats for teal and Labor MPs at the May 2022 election, the Liberal Party’s salvation, said Dutton, lay in the suburbs and regions.
