After 18 months of anticipation, the covers over AUKUS are finally off. Australia will build eight new nuclear-powered submarines, dubbed the SSN AUKUS, by combining technology from both the United States and United Kingdom.
SSN AUKUS will pave the way for Australia to become just the seventh nation to operate nuclear-powered submarines.
