The debate on this year’s referendum on an Indigenous Voice to parliament has been dominated by how much detail should be provided ahead of polling day.
On election night, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese committed to implementing the Uluru Statement of the Heart in full, which called for a Voice enshrined in the Constitution, before the establishment of a Makarrata Commission for treaty-making and truth-telling.
