Liz Truss tightens her grip on Britain’s top job

London | Britain’s firebrand foreign secretary Liz Truss looks all but certain to become prime minister next month, as fresh polling of Conservative Party members put her streets ahead of rival Rishi Sunak, the former chancellor.
Polls from YouGov and the party grassroots website ConservativeHome each gave Ms Truss a lead of more than 30 points over Mr Sunak, just as ballot papers start to land on the doorsteps of the Conservative Party’s 160,000-plus members.
