If you can afford them, antiviral drugs will help you in the next wave

As Australia braces for a new wave of COVID-19, there is a rush to optimise the use of antiviral drugs. But some people get them for $42.50 a course while others have to pay more than $1000 because they are not entitled to a subsidy.
The drugs, described by Health Minister Mark Butler as “extraordinary”, can protect infected people against severe illness and reduce pressure on hospitals already treating more than 3000 COVID-19 cases a day.
