Labor’s campaign star could be new home affairs minister

Labor frontbencher Jason Clare could be rewarded for his starring performance as the party’s campaign spokesman by being appointed Home Affairs Minister.
Jockeying has begun over the ministry with factional chiefs having to juggle party rules that dictate an increase in female representation, a lack of ministers in the Senate and West Australian demands for more say around the Cabinet table after outsized gains in state.
