The Greens have successfully targeted the progressive inner-city vote in Brisbane, picking up a possible three seats to boost their power bloc on the crossbench, which they claim will make them a genuine third force in Australian politics.
Pre-election predictions of Labor not making inroads in Queensland were proven correct on Saturday night. In fact, it was worse news for the ALP, losing high-profile Terri Butler in Griffith in South Brisbane.
