Lord Norman Foster has a special connection with Bilbao in northern Spain. The preeminent English architect designed the city’s Metro underground railway, and the distinctive (and beautiful) shell-like glass and stainless-steel canopies that cover its entrances are known by the locals as Fosteritos.
