When casino giant The Star Entertainment Group received a critical report from KPMG’s independent review of its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing systems in May 2018, it had two options.

Option one was to recognise that the professionals it had engaged had done their job well, accept their findings and get on with the job of implementing their recommendations.
