Labor promises manufacturing jobs for Qld

Fighting to win back the key battleground electorate of Herbert in north Queensland, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has announced plans to spend $22 million to develop a Townsville industrial hub if Labor wins the federal election.

Mr Albanese will travel to Townsville on Monday and promises to spur a new generation of manufacturing jobs by investing in road, rail and water infrastructure at the Lansdown Industrial Precinct, in partnership with the state government and Townsville City Council.
