Health authorities will move as soon as possible to end seven-day isolation for COVID-19 close contacts, after national cabinet agreed to consider urgent new health advice on the major rule change.

Friday’s meeting of state premiers and Prime Minister Scott Morrison agreed to consider Australian Health Protection Principal Committee advice “as soon as possible”.
