WA seeks to salvage AFL and other sports as border confusion rolls on
The West Australian government has met with several sports teams and organisations as it seeks to save some of the state’s marquee events put at risk by its backflip on reopening the borders to quarantine-free travel.
After losing an Ashes cricket Test late last year, WA Minister for Sport and Recreation David Templeman confirmed to The Australian Financial Review he held a meeting last week with the West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers, Perth Wildcats, Western Force and several others to plot a path forward.
